Breaking Brent: A Wild Ride Story by Niki Green

   http://samhainpublishing.com/romance/breaking-brent

I finished reading Breaking Brent by Niki Green last night.  This was an excellent read.  The characters, the details, the story were all well developed and beautifully balanced to create a compelling read that grabbed you from the first paragraph to the last.  Brent and Peyton are two tortured people who love each other to the depths of their hearts but just don't know how to go about breaking down the barriers that life has put in their way.  Brent is the quiet, silent type, torturing himself over past mistakes and believing that love is just another way to cause pain.  His brother had his heart ripped apart by a woman and Brent swears that will never happen to him. Peyton, suffering heart break because of the way she and Brent broke up so many years ago, still harbors a love that makes anyone else pale in comparison to Brent.  She loves him but doesn't understand what happened and she fights her feelings towards him to avoid the hurt it always brings her.  This story is fantastic in the way they manage to bring themselves back together and the side romance that tickles your imagination near the end only adds to the fun of reading this book.  I highly recommend this story if you like strong characters and lost love and the struggle to get it back.

When the going gets tough, the tough get busy. Real busy.

Roped, Book 2

In Millbrook, Texas, there are cowboys. Then there are the Kiels, every girl’s idea of perfection in tight-fittin’ jeans. Peyton James is no different. Only she doesn’t want to admit it—because three years ago Brent Kiel ripped out her heart and handed it back in teeny little pieces.

In a twist of fate Peyton wound up engaged to Brent’s best friend. The engagement might be off now, but no one needs to know, right? It keeps the questions at bay…and the temptation called Brent Kiel out of reach. Until the night he shows up at her family’s bar.

The only reason Brent agrees to meet his brothers at Big Jack’s is that Peyton never darkens the door on a Friday night. Except tonight. Seeing her is a painful reminder of his mistake and what it cost him—and that no other woman’s lips or body will ever satisfy him like hers.

Nothing—not the past, not her legendary temper, not even the rock on her finger—will keep this cowboy from getting what he wants…
